IndexNow - Fast Search Engine Indexing and Ranking
Your stores use the IndexNow protocol to index your stores in major search engines automatically to boost your rankings.
This feature is enabled automatically and no setup is required.
How does IndexNow work?
Whenever a change is made in your store, e.g. a new article is added or a product is updated, the exact page will be automatically sent to IndexNow.
IndexNow will then "ping" your page to the supported search engines listed below. This notifies them that it has changed, and makes it more likely that your pages will be crawled and indexed.

How does this help my store?
Using IndexNow tells the search engines when you have made changes or added something new. It allows them to focus their indexing on the new pages and recent changes.
Therefore, they will crawl your store more often and this will increase the pages indexed, and in turn your chances of ranking and getting more traffic.
What Search Engines are Supported?
IndexNow currently supports:
- Bing
- Yandex
- Seznam
- Naver
More search engines are being added to the service. When new ones are added your stores will submit to them without any changes required.
Can I change how my store uses IndexNow?
Yes - we have settings inside your store admin area. Look for "Traffic -> IndexNow" in the left menu.
From here you can disable certain types of pages from being sent to IndexNow. This allows you to focus the Search Engine indexing.
For example, if you wish to focus on indexing your store Articles only, you can disable Brands, Products, Categories etc.
If you disable a type of page in IndexNow (e.g. Brands) they will still be seen and indexed by search engines via the XML Sitemap and normal crawling.
What happens when I click the "Submit Now" button?
This will submit a few key URLs to IndexNow straight away. This includes your homepage, about page, sitemap, special offers page etc. and a few products, articles, categories, and brands.
Each URL in your store will be submitted only once every 24 hours. Clicking this button will not override this limit.
Can I submit every page in my store to IndexNow?
IndexNow is used to notify the search engines of changes in your store only. Your store will automatically notify IndexNow only when a new page is added (i.e. a new article) or a change is made (i.e. you update the text on a product).
Your store has an XML Sitemap feature which informs all search engines of all pages on your store.
How often will a page be submitted?
Each page in your store will be submitted a maximum of once per 24 hours. This is to ensure that the search engines do not block or limit your pings.
What else does the IndexNow feature do?
Your store will also notify IndexNow when pages have been deleted from your store. This allows the search engines to focus on the pages that are active and increases the indexing of fresh pages.
