How to Install FSB in a Sub-Folder

How to Guide on Installing Fresh Store Builder in a sub-folder.

Step 1. Download the newest version of fresh store builder from your account area on FreshStoreBuilder.com.

Step2. This guide will show you how to setup the sub-folder and upload the script using the CPanel Hosting platform. 99% of the hosting providers offer the same features but the icons and design might look different. You just need to look for the “File Manger” icon or contact your hosting provider to see if you have it. This guide can be used the same way if you are just using FTP method.

Step 3. After Right clicking on File Manger, make sure to select to go to the ROOT and to show hidden files.

Step 4. You can see in the image below that this website has wordpress installed on the main domain. This is the reason we need to create a sub-folder and install FSB in a sub-folder.  IF YOU UPLOAD FSB FILES IN THE SAME LOCATION AS YOUR WORDPRESS FILES THEN YOU WILL BREAK YOUR WP BLOG. Make sure to create a new sub-folder and upload/extract the files into that folder. For this guide I will be using the sub-folder name “demo”.

Step 5. The sub-folder name used for this guide  is “demo”. Don’t name your folder “demo”. This is normally called “store”, “shop” or any other keyword you might want to use. The sub-folder name will determine the link for your Fresh Store Builder website. For this example it will be FreshStoreBuilderV7.com/demo since the sub-folder name was set to “demo”. You replace “demo” with the folder name you picked.

Step 6. Uploading the Fresh Store Builder Files. Make sure you are in the correct directory before uploading the fresh store builder script. You can see the “Green Arrow” showing we are in the “demo” directory that was created for this guide. You should see the sub-folder name you selected for your FSB setup. Then click the UPLOAD icon to upload the script.

Step 7. Click Browse and find the Fresh Store Builder zip file to upload.

Step 8. If you don’t see the  .zip file, click on the Reload or Refresh Icon.
Right click on the FSB_X.0.0.zip file and click on “Extract”. This will extract all of the FSB files into the sub-folder directory that you created.

Step 9. Make sure you are extracting the zip files/folders to the correct location.

Step 10. Now you are ready to install the script. You just need to visit “yourdomain.com/foldername/

Replace “yourdomain.com” with your website URL and “foldername” with the sub-folder you selected for your FSB install.

Installing the script will only take 2 steps. You need to open your browser and visit yourdomain.com/sub-folder (replace sub-folder with the folder name you set and replace yourdomain.com with your website URL)

You just need to enter your new database information below. Installing the script will only take 2 steps. You need to open your browser and visit subdomain.yourdomain.com (replace sub-domain with the folder name you set and replace yourdomain.com with your website URL) Where it says “localhost”, 99% of the times you will just leave that default text. Some hosting providers store your database on a different server. They will provide you with the Database server url that you will need to replace where it says “localhost”. First try “localhost” and if you are getting error messages and are 100% sure you entered the full Database name and the full database user with the correct password, then double check to make sure your database isn’t hosted on a different server URL.

The information you set below will be used to reset your stores control panel password. You will also set a username/password for your control panel admin section.

Once you have installed the script it will redirect you to the login page. It will normally be yourdomain.com/freshadmin

If you installed the script in a sub-folder, then it would be yourdomain.com/foldername/freshadmin

If you installed the script on a sub-domain, then it would be foldername.yourdomain.com/freshadmin

Once you have logged into your freshadmin control panel, click on Get Started and then Store Health. That is where you will be able to setup your Amazon API keys, tracking id and also make your store live when you are ready to go.
